(More customer reviews)These screen doors are very poor quality. The velcro came off its tape backing after about a week. The doors do not fit tightly across the edges of the door. The weighting on the bottom of the screen is not heavy enough to keep the screen from blowing inside and wide open. Also - the screens DO NOT fit any size door. They only fit the 36 inch door, anything smaller, and you cannot attach the screen to the door frame without leaving bulges and gaps. I would not recommend this product unless you live somewhere where there is NEVER any wind or rain.

The velcro tabs do not hold tight nor does the magnet (which could be bigger) but sliding a tension rod through the loops at the top hold it in place. With two active kids running in and out I didn't have high hopes for this product but it does work and I am happy with the amount I had spent on it.

ODL RTMXW01 36X78 Retractable Screen for Sliding Glass Doors, Short Height Doors, and 6'8" Out-Swing Doors Review

(More customer reviews)This retractable screen works perfectly every time we use it! It's a great value for the money. Granted you need to install it yourself, but the actual installation job is truly a snap if you are handy. If you are not you may wish to hire someone to perform the installation. However it was pretty easy to put in, and I installed it myself with no one to assist me. If you are only somewhat handy, I would recomend having someone help you with the installation. Two heads are better than one.
For the record, the door was in fact missing a part, when I intially opened the carton to inspect everything inside. Subsequently I had to contact the Customer Service Department at ODL (the manufacturer), and they were fantastic to deal with. I had the missing part delivered via FedEx 2-Day with no questions asked. Again, they were really great. I would however seriously recomend opening the carton upon it's arrival, well in advance of your planned installation day, to ensure you have sufficient time to get missing parts sent to you, should any be missing. I doubt you will have any missing part issues though as I did purchase a second unit, and it arrived complete and ready to go.
As far as the over all quality and performance of this screen goes, my wife and I both, are extremly happy with the build quality and operation of the unit. Glad I bought two of them as I do have a second sliding door that doesn't get used all that much, but would still benefit by having one of these retarctable devices installed, in place of the standard "sliding" screen currently attached to the slider.
This door will definitely improve the exthetics and operational efficiency of any sliding door. All of this at a incredibly low-price, to boot!

(More customer reviews)I have young children and pets who continually slide the door to go in and out. Especially in warmer weather. I had to reinstall the sliding screen at least a dozen times until this. No more "hey shut the screen" or "don't slam the screen". Pets can go in and out without assistance. I would recommend this to anyone.

(More customer reviews)I ordered the 36" bug screen for my 36" door. This screen will not keep anything out of my house except large birds! The screen measures 34" wide, not 36" - the length is fine. Any size insect or fly will easily be able to get in on the sides of the too-narrow screen. I feel cheated even though it was only $18.

(More customer reviews)This screen does a great job, and was easy to install. The only complaint I have is the quality and amount of Velcro provided. The pieces were too small to adequately secure the top of the screen to the door frame. The glue separated from the backing of the Velcro and the screen fell. I purchased some better quality Velcro, and ran a strip the full length of the door frame, and it works great now.

(More customer reviews)I have a fenced-in back yard and three years ago, bought one of these to hang in the back door because I didn't want to cut a hole in walls or doors to install a permanent dog door. My idea, of course, was to give the dogs the freedom to come and go as they please, and to ease my role as doorman. From about April to October, the storm door and house door are open whenever practical, and the set-up has worked just as I had hoped. I get very few insects inside, and after some hesitation at first, the dogs are totally comfortable with it. The screen panels hang from an adjustable spring rod, and the magnets both weight it and close it every effectively. This year, after over two years of use, the dogs tore it a little, and I bought another to have in reserve, simply because it's ingenious and effective. As for human use, when my hands are full, I use an elbow or whatever I'm carrying to press against the center, and it opens fine, and closes behind me.
