The GE 45137 Choice Alert Wireless Silent Alert lets you know the status of you Choice Alert Security System before you enter your home. Its easy-to-see LEDs flash repeatedly if your security system has been compromised and the alarm has been activated, adding a greater level of security for you and your family. The weather-resistant Silent Alert easily mounts outdoors and is powered by two 'AA' batteries (not included).
Choice Alert components offer expandability for complete home protection. Note: This product must be used with the GE 45129 Wireless Control Center or with the GE 45142 Wireless Control Center Starter Kit (each sold separately). The GE 45137 Silent Alert can work alongside other wireless Choice Alert components as part of a GE Choice Alert Wireless Alarm System.

With wireless capabilities, Choice Alert products require no complicated wiring, drilling or expensive installation costs. And because they are designed to be part of a self-contained system, there are no monthly usage charges. System components are simple enough for anyone to use, and they can be combined to provide a customized blanket of protection over your entire property.

Wireless Control Center for Device MonitoringThe entire Choice Alert Security System is designed around the Wireless Control Center, the system's hub. The Control Center monitors every sensor that is wirelessly connected to it. As many as four sensors can be programmed in each of four zones, giving you the security of up to 16 devices to guard your entire home, including sensors for doors, windows, gates, water leaks, and motion detection.
The Wireless Control Center allows you to secure your system with a custom four-digit code that can be changed at any time. Plus, the center lets you control many system features. For example, you can select 'Home' mode for an instant alarm and 'Away' mode for a delayed alarm. In addition to the armed alarm system, the Control Center also offers a visible and audible Zone Notification alert system (with a choice of continuous alert or single chime mode) and a dedicated alert zone (Zone 4). The center wirelessly transmits and receives signals up to 150 feet.
Additionally, the Wireless Control Center features a low-battery indicator that will alert you when battery power is low in a specific zone, so you'll know exactly when to replace the batteries in every one of your components.
Combine Components for Total Home CoverageTo complement the Silent Alert, there are several components available for use with the Wireless Control Center, including a door/window sensor, a motion detector, a water leak sensor, a secondary audio alarm siren, a garage door sensor, and a signal repeater (for enhanced wireless range). An Extra Level of Security to Keep You and Your Family SafeThe Silent Alert lets you know whether or not your Choice Alert Alarm System has been compromised--before you enter your home. This advanced warning will help prevent you and your family from potentially walking in on a dangerous intruder. Simply mount the Silent Alert in a hidden place--outside your front door, along the edge of a window, in your garage, or any other discreet area that only you and your family know about. Flashing LEDs will signal whether or not security has been breached while you were away, and the LEDs will continue to flash until the Silent Alert is disarmed via the Wireless Control Center.
Installing the Silent Alert is a breeze. Simply use the included double-sided tape or screws to mount the device within 150 feet of the Wireless Control Center. The device is weather resistant, so you can mount it indoors or out. Add as many Silent Alerts to your Choice Alert Security System as you'd like; mount one near your front door, one near the rear entrance to your home, or one any other place where you want advanced warning. The device uses two 'AA' batteries (not included) for a battery life of up to 18 months, and it features a low-battery indicator that lets you know when to replace the batteries.

Mighty Mule FM131 Wireless Driveway Alarm Review

(More customer reviews)NEVER GOT ONE TO WORK!!! The first one would only go off when I walked by with keys in my pocket with the base only 10 ft from the transmitter. I called GTO Tech Support since there is NOTHING about the product on their website and the only answer I got was to "reinstall the batteries" which of course I had already tried with several sets of batteries. They also suggested I could be getting some interference from some other wireless device. So, I shut off all of the wireless devices I have and even tried moving it 250 feet to my garage and even outside with extension cords with no help. Nothing would set it off! No vehicles passing within 3 feet or any heavy steel object could trigger it. Called GTO Tech Support again and they said it sounded defective and I would have to send it to them to check it out but I would have to pay shipping. I said I would rather send it back to Amazon since they DO pay shipping for defective products. Amazon was great as usual and agreed to send me a 2nd one and pay for return shipping on the first one. Got the 2nd one and it was just as bad as the first one. The only thing that would occasionally set it off was me walking by with keys in my pocket.
Called GTO tech support for the 3rd time and this time someone was willing to spend some time with me and had me try a number of things but the best we could do was get it to go off with me walking between the transmitter and the receiver with keys in my pocket. NOTHING ELSE WOULD TRIGGER AN ALARM. He offered to send me one that he had tested ok but wanted $35 MORE than AMAZON!!! Amazon was willing to send me another one but I had already spent about 4 hours more on this thing than a person should, so I decided to send the 2nd one back to Amazon who agreed to reimburse me for both units and return shipping.
Needless to say, I would recommend NO ONE BUY THIS THING until it is ready for market. I have been doing electronics repair for over 40 years and don't think the problem is likely to be anything but defective units. I would have given it ZERO STARS if I could have. GTO was clearly not interested in getting a satisfied customer.

Mighty Mule FM231 Wireless Driveway Alarm Review

(More customer reviews)I ordered the Mighty Mule Wireless Driveway Alarm model 231 because I have had fairly bad results with IR motion detector based alarms. The MM Alarm arrived on time and in very good condition. Right away after opening the box, I noticed there was a problem. The PVC pipe for mounting the transmitter has been cut on an angle to allow easier driving into the ground like a stake. Unfortunately, the wire to the detector also has to be run up that PVC to the transmitter, so you will surely damage the wire while driving the stake if your ground is not extremely soft. My solution was to drill a hole in the stake about about 10 inches up so that the stake can be driven and then the wire fed into the hole and up the tube to the transmitter. This worked and I was able to install the sensor and transmitter with no other issues. Next, I found that the advertised 400' range is very suspect. I placed the transmitter a little over 325 feet from my house and the receiver would not pick up the signal from inside the house. I had to take it outside where it worked well. I moved the transmitter to about 150' from my house and it works excellent. I would say that this alarm is not satisfactory at 400' and MM should advertise it for 250' or less to be completely truthful. If you want a longer distance model, you'll need to buy a different product. It would also help if the volume could be doubled. It seems that none of these alarms include satisfactory volume for those of us who are slightly hearing impaired.
