GE 45131 Choice-Alert Wireless Door/Window Sensor Review

GE 45131 Choice-Alert Wireless Door/Window Sensor
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
As with the motion sensors for this GE product, these do NOT communicate up to 150 feet. Feel lucky if you can get up to 30 feet. And if the temperature dips below 35 degrees, these don't function well. See my review for the Motion Sensor component. These are just not worth it... you get what you pay for and I'm upset that I thought these might work when they're clearly an inferior and barely useful item. I will state that the base unit is cheaply made and does not function as expected or according to the descriptions in its little manual. Quite indicative of cheap junk. Finally, be prepared - the ONLY WAY this unit attaches to the wall is with sticky TAPE. I did not expect that. Just absurd junk!

The weather-resistant GE 45131 Choice Alert Wireless Door/Window Sensor provides a layer of security for any door or window inside or outside your home, including gates, cabinets, refrigerators, sheds, and more. Its two-piece magnetic design is easy to install and requires no wiring. The sensor transmits a wireless alert to the Choice Alert Wireless Control Center whenever a door or window is opened or closed. An added bonus, the sensor is powered by a single lithium battery that provides up to 24 months of protection before it needs to be replaced.
Note: This product must be used with the GE 45129 Wireless Control Center or with the GE 45142 Wireless Control Center Starter Kit (each sold separately). The GE 45131 Window/Door Sensor can work alongside other wireless Choice Alert components as part of a GE Choice Alert Wireless Alarm System.
Part of the GE Choice Alert Wireless Alarm SystemThe GE 45131 Window/Door Sensor is part of the GE Choice Alert Wireless Alarm System line of products. As many as four sensors can be programmed in each of four zones, giving you the security of up to 16 sensors to guard your entire home, including sensors for doors, windows, gates, water leaks, and motion detection.
The Wireless Control Center allows you to secure your system with a custom four-digit code that can be changed at any time. Plus, the center lets you control many system features. For example, you can select 'Home' mode for an instant alarm and 'Away' mode for a delayed alarm. In addition to the armed alarm system, the Control Center also offers a visible and audible Zone Notification alert system (with a choice of continuous alert or single chime mode) and a dedicated alert zone (Zone 4). The center wirelessly transmits and receives signals up to 150 feet.

Fulcrum 20031-101 Motion Sensor LED Porch Light, Silver Review

Fulcrum 20031-101 Motion Sensor LED Porch Light, Silver
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Just added this to the bottom of our apartment's formerly unsafe and dark stairway. Powered by the 4 size C batteries, my only worry was whether this would sufficiently illuminate the section (the reason I ruled out a solar powered unit; these tend to put out as much light as a birthday candle). Initially tested the unit indoors and I was pleasantly surprised to see the LEDs put out a great deal of light...enough to read by. Installation is a breeze, the motion sensor is sensitive enough to turn on from about 6-8' away, and hopefully the light lives up to the 6-12 month battery replacement claims. Only negative is not specific to this unit, but of LED lighting technology: the lights are so cold blue, it sometimes looks like a new car headlight is shining downward. Wonder why manufacturers do not include a slightly warm-tinted clear film to alter the light's colour a bit. But overall, think this is a perfect renter's choice in adding some safety lighting outdoors.

Designed for indoor or outdoor use, the LIGHT IT! Porch Light from Fulcrum is a motion sensor and LED in one compact unit. Equipped with six LEDs, the Porch Light can detect movement within a 25-foot range and at a 100-degree angle to provide instant security to any area in or around your home. The light also rotates so its cool, bright white light can illuminate all dark areas. To preserve battery power, photocell technology prevents the light from turning on during the daytime. The Porch Light requires no hardwiring and comes with all necessary mounting hardware. It runs on four C batteries (not included).
Automatically Illuminates Dark Areas for SafetyThe Porch Light enhances the security of your property. It can brighten a dim porch, carport, doorway, back staircase, or garage without requiring a flipped switch. The light detects movement within a 25-foot range and automatically switches on and stays illuminated until the sensor has not detected motion for a full 30 seconds.
Bright LED Panel Rotates to Cover 25 FeetThe six-LED panel rotates so light covers its entire range, illuminating dark corners as well as open space. During the daytime, the light's photocell and motion sensor prevent activation to save battery power. In low light and darkness, motion will trigger the light. Weatherproof casing helps protect it against the elements, even during inclement weather.
Fast, Easy Installation Without Cords or WiresThe Sensor Light mounts anywhere quickly and installs in minutes without wires or plugs. Installation is as simple as loading 4 C batteries and attaching the mounting plate with two screws (included). Measuring 5-1/2 inches on all sides and weighing 1 pound, the Porch Light is compact enough to blend in with its surroundings. It requires no hardwiring, and comes with all necessary mounting hardware.
Energy-Efficient LEDs Extend Battery LifeTo save you money and help protect the environment, this light uses energy-efficient LED bulbs. These bulbs extend battery life, and never need replacement. Additionally, they emit little or no heat when compared to incandescent lamps.

MERANTO TECHNOLOGY DG01-B SECURITY LATCH DOOR BRASS Review

MERANTO TECHNOLOGY DG01-B SECURITY LATCH DOOR BRASS
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
well designed product. this lock can only be locked from inside your home, and cannot be unlocked from outside. i have one on each exterior door (12 doors) so I do trust them to work. you are provided with 2 2" screws and a few smaller screws for installation. My sugesstion is to make sure you drive the screws into the stud adjacent to your door frame...the door frame alone will not be strong enough to stop a forced intrusion (i know this from experience). so if you need to purchase longer screws, I suggest you do so.
also, depending on how your door is set, you may be required to chisel some of the door casing (the door molding around your door) to properly install the door guardian. you want the rubber pad of the door guardian to have contact with the door when it is in the locked position. a few of my doors were recessed so there was about 4 to 5 cm of space between the rubber pad and the door. to alleviate this problem, I used chisels on the door casing to carve out enough space that would allow the door guardian to make full contact with the door (while in locked position). if you encounter this problem and require chisels, i highly recommend the following set for the cleanest installation:
Stanley 16-971 6-Piece FatMax Short Blade Chisel Set (can be purchased from amazon).
good luck keeping the bad guys out!

Skylink SC-10 Security System Basic Kit Review

Skylink SC-10 Security System Basic Kit
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I called Brinks new home security company, BroadView. They told me for $100 they would install 2 door sensors and 2 window sensors. Any additional sensors would be $75 a piece. Additionally I would pay $40 a month for their service and sign a 3 year contract. Thats $1500!!! If the system broke or messed up I would have to pay a BroadView tech to come out and fix it. WTF? Ok, so their commercials are great. I called ADT. I mean they have to be better, right? NO! Same deal.
You can't put a price on your families safety but are those companies services that great? If a sensor is triggered, they call your house. No sh*& sherlock! Thats going to help me out a lot! I could have called 911 on my own, and that's a free call.
Ok, the SKYLINK is Awesome. It was terribly simple to set up and install. I didn't use the switchboard that calls your phone since I don't use a land line. Each item came with everything I needed to install it. I tricked out my entire house with a sensor on each window and door. At night I just hit my keyring and hear the beeb when it arms. I set the sensor up in the hallway, but had to take it down because the dog kept triggering it and sending me flying around the house with a loaded gun. Other than that, there have been no false alarms. The alarm is LOUD. My eardrums pulse and head throbs even from the other side of the house. It is ridiculous loud. There is no way and intruder will continue to rob your house with that thing going off. The alarm is run buy a battery so it can be ripped off the wall or the power can be cut, and it will continue to work. I couldn't really hear it outside the house but inside.... You can buy and additional alarm to put outside but your neighbors will hate you for testing it or accidentally tripping on your way out the window.
I have zero regrets about purchasing Skylink and highly recommend it.

Garage Butler Automatic Garage Door Closer Review

Garage Butler Automatic Garage Door Closer
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this item to ensure that if we ever left our garage door open, it would close automatically and it works exactly as advertised. The instructions are straight forward and include small pictures that help a bit with visualizing the installation. All of the wires were long enough for my normal sized one-car garage. One thing I would have liked to see is pre-drilled holes in the brackets that hold the magnetic sensor and receiver to the garage door. I didn't trust that the double-sided tape that came with the unit would permanentely hold either of the two brackets in place (one to the garage door and one to the track). Although the sensor and receiver included predrilled holes, I had to drill holes in the brackets myself to secure the sensor to the Z-bracket and the receiver to the L-bracket. It worked perfect. It's tricky getting the sensor and receiver lined up with one another. The double sided tape works well for this and can be used to align the sensor and receiver since it can be removed and re-adjusted so long as you don't press down hard on the tape until you're sure you've got it all aligned. One BIG letdown was that the control head itself comes with double-sided tape to stick it onto the wall next to your original garage door opener. I can GUARANTEE you that the weight of the control head would not be supported over time by the double-sided tape. Furthermore, I was disappointed to find that there were NOT pre-drilled holes in the back of the control head for use in mounting it to the wall. I had to drill my own keyhole shaped holes in the back of the unit (which was very tricky) to get it mounted to the wall. To secure the wires to the wall I used a staple gun being careful not to cut the wires. Although I knew ahead of time that this unit used wires, it sure would be nice if a future version was wireless. I have a garage door alarm that is wireless so I know it is possible. Since I just installed it today, I'll update this review at a later date if the unit ever starts malfunctioning but so far so good. All in all, I got exactly what I paid for and it works exactly as advertised/intended.
UPDATE: Well, it's been a year now and I have had absolutely no issues with this equipment. It continues to work great.

In my opinion, buying the cheaper white SkyLink motion sensor is a better choice. It WILL work with any SkyLink alarm in spite of some retailers claiming it won't (so you'll buy more expensive one).
Save your money and buy the WHITE ones! Besides, how many people have GRAY walls? White goes better with wall paint.

Pros: Sturdy, made from the same company as Garage door opener, Lit keypad, Easy to install, comes with 9V battery and screws
Cons: The battery compartment lid is not easy to open, only 4 digit code can be used
IMPORTANT: Make sure that the button on the garage door opener is RED, otherwise you need another keypad model. check this link http://www.chamberlainremotesonline.com/?gclid=COyJ0Z-auJgCFSIgDQodWF7AbA
When syncing the code with opener, remember to sync this keypad, car remotes and garage door opener button simultaneously. This means that
1-Press RED button on motor, green LED is lit
2-Enter 4 digit code on remote (as desired)
3-Now press enter key + car remote key + garage door opener button(fixed on wall ,not the RED button) at the same time (may require two persons) , ligth will blink and now all the devices will be synced. If you miss any remote during this process ,it will not work.Of course you can repeat the process.
4-Check all remotes and keypad are working
5-Now install it on the wall, for one of the screws you have to open the battery lid.
I don't know about the long term reliability of the product because it has only been a week since i have installed it.

Works great after your realize the 150 feet remote range is questionable. It took us 2 weeks to figure out we had to move the control box closer to the remotes. Works great now and lets us know if either door is open or closed from living room. We don't have to go downstairs to check. Also I didn't realize remotes don't come with control box and had to order seperately after the fact.

Chamberlain CLDM1 Clicker Garage Door Monitor Review

Chamberlain CLDM1 Clicker Garage Door Monitor
Average Reviews:

My garage is a separate building about 15' away from my house, so I needed something to tell me if I left the door open. I'm using this about 100' away from the transmitter - a bit too much for it. It worked fine at first, but then would lose signal on occasion. I noticed that the receiver had an antenna but the transmitter didn't. I opened up the transmitter and found the antenna "loop" - I simply soldered on a piece of wire of the appropriate length (this uses 390mhz, so I used a 1/2 wave length of wire, which is 14.4 inches). Works perfectly now!

Sometimes you just forget to close the garage door. But if "sometimes" is closer to "usually" for you, you may run the risk of having your garage emptied out by opportunistic passers-by, and you will certainly pay more to heat your house. Chamberlain's Clicker Garage Door Monitor helps you minimize the likelihood that you'll leave the biggest door in your house open. The device mounts easily without tools to your garage door via a Velcro strip; if your door is open, the sensor sends a signal to the monitor, causing a red light to flash. The monitor may be plugged in anywhere in your house where you're likely to notice the flashing light. Depending on your garage-door habits, this device could help prevent theft and lower your heating bills. Includes lithium battery.--Josh Dettweiler

Master Lock 5401D Select Access Wall-Mounted Key Storage Box with Set-Your-Own Combination Lock Review

Master Lock 5401D Select Access Wall-Mounted Key Storage Box with Set-Your-Own Combination Lock
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Unbelievably, during my 19 years of homeownership, the way I've kept a spare key outside the house is by putting it inside a fake rock (from Brookstone) designed to hold a key. Not real safe, huh? My wife finally convinced me that we should get something a bit more secure than a plastic rock with a sliding cover underneath it to hold our spare key. After doing a bit of research and poking around on Amazon, I came across this Master Lock key storage box. It looked like exactly what we needed. (I had considered one other product on Amazon, made by GE, but was totally put off by the fact that even if someone didn't know your exact combination, they could still open the box. The device would open as long as someone entered the right numbers in your code, regardless of the order. Example: If your code was 4231, if someone entered 1234, the box would open. That seems wack.) The Master Lock box was simple to install. I just used the four screws that came with it to mount it to the side of my garage. It took about 5 minutes. Then I set my combination, put the spare key in the box, and locked it up. Voila! My wife and I now feel much safer about the location of our spare key. And it's nice to be able to change the combination anytime we want. Another truly great aspect of this product is the sliding protective cover that protects the number wheels (or whatever you call them). The cover keeps the numbers protected from the elements. Also, the box seems very strong and secure. I would highly recommened it to anyone. In fact, I'm going to buy another one for my brother-in-law to install at his cottage. A great product at a great price.

Don't bother with them. The range is about 10 feet, and you don't realize how short that is, until you're only 10 feet away. One actually needed to be tweaked on the inside before it even worked.

Mighty Mule FM131 Wireless Driveway Alarm Review

Mighty Mule FM131 Wireless Driveway Alarm
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
NEVER GOT ONE TO WORK!!! The first one would only go off when I walked by with keys in my pocket with the base only 10 ft from the transmitter. I called GTO Tech Support since there is NOTHING about the product on their website and the only answer I got was to "reinstall the batteries" which of course I had already tried with several sets of batteries. They also suggested I could be getting some interference from some other wireless device. So, I shut off all of the wireless devices I have and even tried moving it 250 feet to my garage and even outside with extension cords with no help. Nothing would set it off! No vehicles passing within 3 feet or any heavy steel object could trigger it. Called GTO Tech Support again and they said it sounded defective and I would have to send it to them to check it out but I would have to pay shipping. I said I would rather send it back to Amazon since they DO pay shipping for defective products. Amazon was great as usual and agreed to send me a 2nd one and pay for return shipping on the first one. Got the 2nd one and it was just as bad as the first one. The only thing that would occasionally set it off was me walking by with keys in my pocket.
Called GTO tech support for the 3rd time and this time someone was willing to spend some time with me and had me try a number of things but the best we could do was get it to go off with me walking between the transmitter and the receiver with keys in my pocket. NOTHING ELSE WOULD TRIGGER AN ALARM. He offered to send me one that he had tested ok but wanted $35 MORE than AMAZON!!! Amazon was willing to send me another one but I had already spent about 4 hours more on this thing than a person should, so I decided to send the 2nd one back to Amazon who agreed to reimburse me for both units and return shipping.
Needless to say, I would recommend NO ONE BUY THIS THING until it is ready for market. I have been doing electronics repair for over 40 years and don't think the problem is likely to be anything but defective units. I would have given it ZERO STARS if I could have. GTO was clearly not interested in getting a satisfied customer.

GE 45129 Choice-Alert Wireless Control Center Review

GE 45129 Choice-Alert Wireless Control Center
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The idea is great, an easy-to-install wireless alarm system that notifies you and your neighbors (if you have at least one additional siren and a neighbor) of a breakin. However, there is one serious design flaw.
The base unit is what communicates with all sensors and extra sirens. When in AWAY mode (mode you use when away from home), the unit will beep for 30 seconds after an intrusion has been detected (designed to allow you to get in and deactivate it before the alarm sounds). But the beeping can lead a burglar to the control unit and all he has to do is unplug the unit and take out the battery (or just slam the thing so hard it breaks) therefore stopping the alarm from ever going off.
The flaw could have easily been avoided (or at least lessened)if the battery cover simply had 4 to 6 screws attaching it to the unit. That way, the burglar would at least have to struggle to keep it from sounding the alarm.
Or, another design that would have helped would be if the unit was mounted to a wall where a burglar could not easily get to the battery compartment. It is designed to sit on a table.
Other than that, this is a great item to own. While in HOME mode (while you are in for the night), ANY intrusion detected will activate the alarm immediately. This really helps you to feel more safe at night.

The built-in 120-decibel siren is loud enough to alert you and your neighbors when the system is compromised, so you get complete, effective protection at an affordable price.
Note: This product must be used with Choice Alert components (sold separately). The GE 45129 Wireless Control Center can work alongside any wireless Choice Alert sensor or accessory to form a GE Choice Alert Wireless Alarm System.
Part of the GE Choice Alert Wireless Alarm SystemThe GE 45129 Wireless Control Center is the primary component of the GE Choice Alert Wireless Alarm System line of products. Cost-effective and easy to install, Choice Alert components offer wireless operation, multi-zone coverage, home and away settings, and expandability for complete home protection.

And because they are designed to be part of a self-contained system, there are no monthly usage charges. System components are simple enough for anyone to use, and they can be combined to provide a customized blanket of protection over your entire property.
Wireless Control Center for Sensor MonitoringThe entire Choice Alert Security System is designed around the Wireless Control Center, the system's hub. The Control Center monitors each and every sensor that is wirelessly connected to it.
Additionally, the Wireless Control Center features a low-battery indicator that will alert you when battery power is low in a specific zone, so you'll know exactly when to replace the batteries in every one of your components.
Combine Components for Total Home CoverageThere are several components available for use with the Wireless Control Center, including a door/window sensor, motion detector, water leak sensor, secondary audio alarm siren, signal repeater (for enhanced wireless range), garage door sensor, and Silent Alert LED indicator.. Add up to 16 sensors and give yourself the peace of mind that only complete home protection can provide.
Quick and Easy Pairing With Choice Alert SensorsThe Wireless Control Center features a dedicated "Learn" button that lets you easily pair Choice Alert Sensors within a matter of seconds. The process for disabling sensors is just as simple, making for hassle-free customization of your Choice Alert Security System. There's also a dedicated switch for toggling between 'Alert', 'Chime', and 'Off' modes (affects Zones One, Two, and Three only).
The Control Center includes a special dedicated alert zone (Zone 4) that is always monitored, regardless of the alarm settings. This zone is ideal for sensors that alert you of water leaks and open garage, shed, freezer, or medicine cabinet doors--areas of your home that you want continually monitored with a silent alarm.
The GE 45129 Choice Alert Wireless Control Center is backed by a one-year limited warranty.

GE 45142 Choice-Alert Wireless Control Center with Door or Window Sensor Kit Review

GE 45142 Choice-Alert Wireless Control Center with Door or Window Sensor Kit
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this GE Home Security starter kit and several of the add ons to put in a security system to help protect our home. I've been fairly pleased, but there are a couple of issues to be aware of. In order to give my review a bit of structure, I'll attempt to break it down by component...including a couple of components that ARE NOT included in this basic kit, but that you may need to purchase to get the system to work, or elect to purchase to expand the system.
1. The conroller. The controler is small, easy to program and makes heck of a racket when the alarm system is triggered. My only slight complaint with the conroller is it does not include any provision to be wall mounted and it has limited range (more on that under "door/window sensor below". Turning the system on or off from the control pad is very easy. Each of first 3 zones can handle up to 4 sensors, allowing you to say, put all 4-exterior doors on Zone 1, and windows on zones 2 and 3. To do this, obviously you have to get more hardware than comes with the basic kit reviewed here.
2. Door/Window sensor. The advantage of the wireless door/window sensor is the ease of installation. A wired system would require many hours of running wires from each sensor to the controller to function. This is not practical in many instances. The wireless sensors are easy to place using a couple of screws to mount the contact plate and some double sided tape to mount the sensors themselves. Programming the controller to recognize the sensor is also easily accomplished. However, be aware that the sensors have limited range...in some cases VERY limited range. In my installation, 2 sensors located near the front of the house would not communicate all the time with the control box. Another reviewer talked about how his control box will flash, reporting a low battery in a sensor, when in fact the battery isn't low. Well...the reason the controller is flashing is because it is not getting a good signal from the sensor. It cannot differentiate between a low battery and a poor signal. So, it will flash repeatedly and the documentation says that means "low battery" but it can also mean the sensor is too far from the controller. In my situation, my 2 sensors were only about 40-feet from the controller and I had this issue...so beware when GE sasy "up to 150 feet". If you have an issue, you will need one or more "range extenders" which are not included in the basic kit. However, I had to buy one so I reviewed it below.
My other issue with the sensor is how hard it is to take them apart to change the battery (at least once every 2-years per GE). The tabs on the side would seem to indicate a screwdriver can be used to take them apart, but they are too flimsy to do that. The only way I was able to get mine apart was to use a razor knife as a prying tool (kind of dangerous) to get the case apart and get to the battery. I see no way to replace the batteries without removing the sensors from the door frame...and they are secured with double sided tape, not screws...so that's going to be an issue in the future. GE needs to redesign the catches that hold the sensor body together. The ones I had apart, I shaved the tabs down to make them easier to get back apart later.
3. Range Extender - This deal plugs into an unused wall socket (tying it up forever) and will simply "repeat" any signals it recieves from sensors around it, hopefully communicating all the way back to the controller, so that sensors that can't otherwise function reliably will now begin working properly. It works, in a fashion, but be aware that the Range Extender itself still has a very short range. In my case, I was able to find a spot to plug it in half way between the front of the house and the controller that was close enough to the sensors to work and close enough to the controller to work.....it seemed to need to be within 15 feet of the sensors and 25 feet of the controller. I have NO IDEA if you can chain one range extender after another.
4. Window Decals and Yard Sign. I read up on this and most "experts" say that putting in decals and a yard sign are your biggest deterents to simple home break ins. None of what I'm talking about here is going to keep a determined thief from stealing your Monet, but maybe it will keep the doper kids down the block from targeting your house for meyhem if they need some money to buy more dope. I went with an extra pack of sticky stickers and put one on most of my windows and all of my doors. The yard sign? It is so flimsy it broke trying to take it out of the package. If I was GE, I'd be ashamed to have my name on it. It's a flimsy piece of plastic junk. I taped mine together with some clear tape and then couldn't get the plastic stake to drive into the yard, as it is so cheap and flimsy. Get the picture?
5. Other Sensors available. A motion detector and a water sensor are available. I didn't get them so I can't comment really.
6. What isn't available. To my knowledge, you can't get any sort of dialer with this alarm system. Also, no home monitoring is included. To that extent this system represents a definite comprimise in security. To get it working, you are going to have to lay out some money, but you don't have an ongoing monitoring charge from a home security company. The comprimise, your home won't be as secure as it would be with a really top notch, monitored system.
7. Remote Siren - The remote siren is really loud and hopefully, being remote from the controller, will increase the chances that a passing neighbor will hear the alarm and take notice of the strange white van sitting in the driveway. It needs a receptical of its own and is also (I'm sure) limited in range. Mine would take a bit to find and disable...but that may not be too much of an issue for a thief as I summarize below.
OK...So...if I'm a thief and I'm not detered by the flimsy hard sign and the decals, I'm going to go right up to your house and bust open a door or window. IF that door or window is equipped with a sensor, there's really good chance it's going to trip an alarm. If you have the system set to "HOME" that means the alarm is going to go off immediately emitting a very loud (if your close to it) noise...that would alert anyone in the house and MAYBE someone outside of an intrusion. But honestly, that's a big Maybe. The determined thief now can follow his ears to the control box and disable it with a hammer (or even under heel) to little bits. That WILL make the alarm quit sounding. If you have the system set to "AWAY" it will just start beeping when triggered allowing the thief 45 seconds to enter the code to disarm it. Obviously he doesn't know the code so he'll just crush it to bits, again disabling the system. I've figured out a way to set my system to "HOME" even when I'm away. If you can figure out a way to exit your house without setting off a sensor, you can do the same thing.
This system, again, does represent good value, but the best you can hope for is the thief isn't "determined" and hopefully will go on down the street to the next house that has no alarm. You might consider putting in a yard sign from one of the "major" security providers to go along with this system. That would probably be an improvement. Even better would be a high-dollar WIRED system with home monitoring, but it's going to cost you a lot more and be more of a hassle. I've been called in the middle of the night at least 10 times when my mother's monitored home security system has been accidently triggered...so I know there are hassles going that way too.
