Our garage door stopped closing all the way; the light sensors weren't lit anymore. I ordered this kit, replaced the existing sensors, and voila, the door works great now. We probably saved a bundle by fixing it ourselves. Very happy with the product and the shipping time.

Liftmaster 41A4373A Garage Door Opener Safety Beams Review

Liftmaster 41A4373A Garage Door Opener Safety Beams
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My garage door sensors, after several years, have failed to work properly. I asked for a repair quote and was told it would cost more than $80 to repair and that was if they ran into no complications. I decided the proposed charges were excessive and chose to change out the sensors myself.
To install, cut the wires from the old sensors and remove from their mount. Save the mounting bolts as none are included with the safety beam sensor kit. Splice the wires and connect to the new sensors using the supplied crimp connectors. Align the sensors using the alignment indicator lights. Then throw away the old sensors.
For me purchasing this lit and spending about 15 minutes in the garage is well worth the savings. If you are a do-it-yourselfer, perhaps this kit is for you too.PRO:
Simple to install
They work like the originals
CON:
Mounting bolts not included

Garage Butler Automatic Garage Door Closer Review

Garage Butler Automatic Garage Door Closer
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this item to ensure that if we ever left our garage door open, it would close automatically and it works exactly as advertised. The instructions are straight forward and include small pictures that help a bit with visualizing the installation. All of the wires were long enough for my normal sized one-car garage. One thing I would have liked to see is pre-drilled holes in the brackets that hold the magnetic sensor and receiver to the garage door. I didn't trust that the double-sided tape that came with the unit would permanentely hold either of the two brackets in place (one to the garage door and one to the track). Although the sensor and receiver included predrilled holes, I had to drill holes in the brackets myself to secure the sensor to the Z-bracket and the receiver to the L-bracket. It worked perfect. It's tricky getting the sensor and receiver lined up with one another. The double sided tape works well for this and can be used to align the sensor and receiver since it can be removed and re-adjusted so long as you don't press down hard on the tape until you're sure you've got it all aligned. One BIG letdown was that the control head itself comes with double-sided tape to stick it onto the wall next to your original garage door opener. I can GUARANTEE you that the weight of the control head would not be supported over time by the double-sided tape. Furthermore, I was disappointed to find that there were NOT pre-drilled holes in the back of the control head for use in mounting it to the wall. I had to drill my own keyhole shaped holes in the back of the unit (which was very tricky) to get it mounted to the wall. To secure the wires to the wall I used a staple gun being careful not to cut the wires. Although I knew ahead of time that this unit used wires, it sure would be nice if a future version was wireless. I have a garage door alarm that is wireless so I know it is possible. Since I just installed it today, I'll update this review at a later date if the unit ever starts malfunctioning but so far so good. All in all, I got exactly what I paid for and it works exactly as advertised/intended.
UPDATE: Well, it's been a year now and I have had absolutely no issues with this equipment. It continues to work great.

Universal CR-2149 - Safety Beam Sensors for Garage Door Openers Review

Universal CR-2149 - Safety Beam Sensors for Garage Door Openers

This works fine and was easy to install, but there were only two terminals on one sensor where my old sensor had four wires connected. The installation instructions said nothing about this so I had to use trial and error to figure out how to connect it. If you have the same problem, simply connect both "+" wires from the old sensor to the "+" terminal on the new sensor and both "-" wires from the old sensor to the "-" terminal on the new sensor.

Chamberlain 801CB Replacement Safety Sensors Review

Chamberlain 801CB Replacement Safety Sensors
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My garage door would not close unless I held down the hard-wired switch, overriding the safety sensors. I did some looking and found that the LED's on my sensors were supposed to light up (one should stay illuminated, and the other should illuminate when the sensors are lined up). The LED's on my old sensors were so dim, I could only see them light up if the garage was completely dark. I took a guess that I needed new sensors. Well, long story short, I ordered these and had them in a few days. Install was a breeze, it only took about 10 minutes, and all I used was a $1 pair of wire cutters. Just remove your old sensors from their mount and cut the wires, splice the new sensor's wires with your existing garage door opener's wires using the included crimp connectors, and mount the sensors on the included brackets (or on your existing brackets). Everything worked like a charm, and I got to impress my wife with my handyman skills!

Garage Butler - The Automatic Garage Door Closer Review

Garage Butler - The Automatic Garage Door Closer
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Love the peace of mind this product provides. Installation was relitively easy and operation was reliable. I used this product in my old house. Now that I'm building a new home, I shopped around believing there had to be something better given wireless tech. I was surprise that this product is still the best out there. I just don't care for running the wires and having to plug it in. It's just not a clean looking installation. The main feature that provides a competitive advantage is the night time over ride feature. Often I forget to reset it after disabling it, but once dark it would close the door covering my screw up. The other good items are how simple it is to use and the various count down time options. The beeping is a bit too loud, placing tape over the speaker helps. Mounting it with tape is a joke. My unit fell and I had to rig up something better.

Chamberlain Garage Door Add-On Sensor for CLDM2 Monitor Review

Chamberlain Garage Door Add-On Sensor for CLDM2 Monitor
Average Reviews:

I bought the pickup unit with sensor and an extra sensor in one shot. This device gets confused all the time with two sensors, and sometimes the signal does not get picked up at all, from even a few feet away. I've never had a wireless device that was so useless. I think I'll just buy a few roller switches and hardwire a doorbell/LED to them.
Just too bad I waited so long to test this out before I found out how they worked.

My cousin left the garage door open and my $2,000 bicycle was stolen within minutes. However, since installing the doorminder, the door closes after only 25 seconds. I used to drive back to my garage to check if I had closed it. I don't have to do that anymore.

Chamberlain CLDM1 Clicker Garage Door Monitor Review

Chamberlain CLDM1 Clicker Garage Door Monitor
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My garage is a separate building about 15' away from my house, so I needed something to tell me if I left the door open. I'm using this about 100' away from the transmitter - a bit too much for it. It worked fine at first, but then would lose signal on occasion. I noticed that the receiver had an antenna but the transmitter didn't. I opened up the transmitter and found the antenna "loop" - I simply soldered on a piece of wire of the appropriate length (this uses 390mhz, so I used a 1/2 wave length of wire, which is 14.4 inches). Works perfectly now!

Sometimes you just forget to close the garage door. But if "sometimes" is closer to "usually" for you, you may run the risk of having your garage emptied out by opportunistic passers-by, and you will certainly pay more to heat your house. Chamberlain's Clicker Garage Door Monitor helps you minimize the likelihood that you'll leave the biggest door in your house open. The device mounts easily without tools to your garage door via a Velcro strip; if your door is open, the sensor sends a signal to the monitor, causing a red light to flash. The monitor may be plugged in anywhere in your house where you're likely to notice the flashing light. Depending on your garage-door habits, this device could help prevent theft and lower your heating bills. Includes lithium battery.--Josh Dettweiler

Liftmaster 41A5034 Garage Door Opener Safety Beam Kit Review

Liftmaster 41A5034 Garage Door Opener Safety Beam Kit
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This unit was easy to install and fixed my old craftsman garage door opener model 139.53962SRT.
I learned a few tricks in the process
These are some general troubleshooting steps:
1.- Check the wiring first. Be sure wires has not been damaged. With ohm meter check for open circuit or short circuit.
2.-Disconnect the receiver and sender units. They both connect to the same terminals. Terminals 2 and 3 in my opener. Be sure to label the wires to be able to reconnect them later. Measure the voltage in the terminals. It should be around 6 volts DC. Terminal 2 negative. Terminal 3 positive. If there is no voltage the control card in the opener is defective. This kit will not help in that case.
3.- Reconnect the sender unit first. Its LED light should come on. If it does not, the sender is defective. Replace the sender.
4.- If the sender LED comes on, connect the receiver unit. The LED light comes on when it detects infrared light. Point the sender to the receiver. The receiver LED light should come on. If it does not try with a TV remote. TV remotes emit infrared light also. Point any TV remote to the receiver unit and press any button. The LED light in the receiver should light up. If it does not. The receiver is defective.
This kit includes a receiver unit, a sender unit and hardware to install.

Chamberlain Liftmaster 915LM Garage Door Monitor Review

Chamberlain Liftmaster 915LM Garage Door Monitor
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I had initially looked at the Skylink garage door indicator, but poor reviews made me look a little harder for another alternative. The LiftMaster is it. Instead of a magnetic push switch which is used on the Skylink, the LiftMaster uses a gravity switch to indicate the door is open or shut. Basically, when the sensor goes from vertical to horizontal, it sends a signal to the receiver to illuminate a red blinking light. We placed the receiver (AC powered) in our bedroom and it receives the door signals (CR2032 battery each) very well (about 200 feet through two walls). The receiver will not be able to differentiate between two different doors, but all I really need to know is if either is open...I could care less which one. The receiver comes with one transmitter and is significantly less expensive than it's Skylink competitor. Additional receivers are also significantly less expensive. If you have ever left your garage door open all night and woke up to missing bicycles or mowers, then this is the product for you. My kids are always telling me the status of our garage doors now. This is a great product.

Liftmaster 378LM 315MHz Wireless Secondary Control Panel Review

Liftmaster 378LM 315MHz Wireless Secondary Control Panel
Average Reviews:

This wireless control allowed me to remove an unsightly wired button where the builder had forgotten to pre-wire and ran the wiring across the ceiling exposed! I mounted this near the pedestrian door into the house and moved the wired button down adjacent to the overhead garage door running the wiring along the channel for the safety system at door bottom. The result is a nice clean look again to the ceiling and two controls in our large garage.
This wireless model works great. Unless I tell someone there is no way they know from looking at it or using it that it is a wireless device!

Genie Safety Beam Photo Eye Sensors Kit Review

Genie Safety Beam Photo Eye Sensors Kit
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
During a recent electrical storm, a close lightning strike took out a few electronic devices in and around our home. One thing I noticed was that my Genie garage door opener was no longer functioning. The light would come on but the door would not go up or down. I checked the little LED lights, located on the Safe-T-Beam sensors by the garage door, and noticed that the red LED was blinking in a reoccurring pattern. I went to the Genie website and checked their support page. I was delighted to find a useful troubleshooting guide, which utilizes the LED lights on the Safe-T-Beam sensors to diagnose potential problems with your Genie garage door opener. This handy troubleshooting guide can be found here:
http://www.genie-garage-opener.com/safe-t-beam-troubleshoot.html
The guide helped me determine that my opener motor and electronics were OK but one or both of my Safe-T-Beam sensors were bad and needed to be replaced. I almost purchased the replacement kit from the Genie website but decided to check Amazon.com first. I'm glad I did, as I found the exact same kit at a much lower price.
The Genie 34094R Garage Door Opener Replacement Safe-T-Beam Kit is the same as the previous 35048R kit, and is the perfect replacement for every Genie garage door opener that utilizes the Safe-T-Beam sensors (all models manufactured from 1995 to current). This easy to install replacement kit includes the following items:
- Both Infrared eyes/sensors (one with Red LED and one with Green LED)
-Two Safe-T-Beam sensor mounting brackets
-Bell wire for connecting sensors to opener unit (approx. 100 ft. of wire included)
-Mounting hardware (screws, washers & nuts) for brackets and sensors
-Installation instructions
I did not need to replace the wire, as my previous wires were still in great shape. I found that I was not able to use my existing sensor mounting brackets, as the new Safe-T-Beam sensors had a slightly different mounting method. Luckily the 34094R kit comes with new mounting brackets (and everything else you would possibly need to install the new sensors). The installation instructions are very easy to read and understand, and provide several illustrations to help make the process simple. I had the new sensors installed in about 20 minutes and my Genie garage door opener was working perfectly once again.
The 34094R Safe-T-Beam replacement kit is a genuine Genie service item and contains everything needed to replace the Safe-T-Beam sensors on all Genie garage door openers manufacturer on or after 1995. It is easy to install and works flawlessly. The cost is very reasonable and I highly recommend this product to anyone with a Genie opener that needs one or both Safe-T-Beam sensors replaced.
