Genie, Series II Wall Control 34299R, Remote Control Review

(More customer reviews)The controller I had before this quit working. So i bought this one to replace it. It worked good for about 2 days and then started working acting the same as the other one. I came to find out that the problem was in the wiring on the back of the opener motor unit itself and not the switch. I have not been able to fix the wiring problem yet so all I can say about this switch is it worked great for me for two days. It looks exactly like the original switch that came with the opener and the night light works good.

(More customer reviews)We began experiencing some slippage of the garage door, then started seeing what looked like "snow" falling out of the ceiling drive box. Uh oh. :(
I took the cover off our mid '90s garage door opener and found that the main nylon drive gear (this item) had been worn completely smooth. A quick Google search told me all I needed to know about replacing it, and off I went to Sears parts store. They wanted $28 for the simple repair kit (the one consisting of just this gear and a small tube of lithium grease... they also had one that contained additional spare parts for another $10 or so.) I thought there MUST be a cheaper alternative and as usual, Amazon came through.
Replacing the gear was pretty straightforward... just spend a little time Googling beforehand and you can find some very helpful step-by-step instructions.

The lights were flashing in a certain pattern that corresponded to "replace logic board" in the on-line user manual. So, I found this on line, ordered it, and reinstalled it in about 10 minutes, and everything worked the first time. The hardest part is reprogramming the remote and the two cars' built in buttons - each of which have rolling codes.

Liftmaster 378LM 315MHz Wireless Secondary Control Panel Review

(More customer reviews)This wireless control allowed me to remove an unsightly wired button where the builder had forgotten to pre-wire and ran the wiring across the ceiling exposed! I mounted this near the pedestrian door into the house and moved the wired button down adjacent to the overhead garage door running the wiring along the channel for the safety system at door bottom. The result is a nice clean look again to the ceiling and two controls in our large garage.
This wireless model works great. Unless I tell someone there is no way they know from looking at it or using it that it is a wireless device!
