Liftmaster 41A4373A Garage Door Opener Safety Beams Review

My garage door sensors, after several years, have failed to work properly. I asked for a repair quote and was told it would cost more than $80 to repair and that was if they ran into no complications. I decided the proposed charges were excessive and chose to change out the sensors myself.
To install, cut the wires from the old sensors and remove from their mount. Save the mounting bolts as none are included with the safety beam sensor kit. Splice the wires and connect to the new sensors using the supplied crimp connectors. Align the sensors using the alignment indicator lights. Then throw away the old sensors.
For me purchasing this lit and spending about 15 minutes in the garage is well worth the savings. If you are a do-it-yourselfer, perhaps this kit is for you too.PRO:
Simple to install
They work like the originals
CON:
Mounting bolts not included

Quick delivery and easy to follow instructions had this remote working quickly. Very Happy. BTW I tried to order directly from SEARS but they were not able to help or even find my garage door opener in their database.

Liftmaster 41A5034 Garage Door Opener Safety Beam Kit Review

This unit was easy to install and fixed my old craftsman garage door opener model 139.53962SRT.
I learned a few tricks in the process
These are some general troubleshooting steps:
1.- Check the wiring first. Be sure wires has not been damaged. With ohm meter check for open circuit or short circuit.
2.-Disconnect the receiver and sender units. They both connect to the same terminals. Terminals 2 and 3 in my opener. Be sure to label the wires to be able to reconnect them later. Measure the voltage in the terminals. It should be around 6 volts DC. Terminal 2 negative. Terminal 3 positive. If there is no voltage the control card in the opener is defective. This kit will not help in that case.
3.- Reconnect the sender unit first. Its LED light should come on. If it does not, the sender is defective. Replace the sender.
4.- If the sender LED comes on, connect the receiver unit. The LED light comes on when it detects infrared light. Point the sender to the receiver. The receiver LED light should come on. If it does not try with a TV remote. TV remotes emit infrared light also. Point any TV remote to the receiver unit and press any button. The LED light in the receiver should light up. If it does not. The receiver is defective.
This kit includes a receiver unit, a sender unit and hardware to install.

I bought a house with a garage opener but no remote(s). As the opener is a Sears product, I checked with them for a remote, & as they no longer make this particular one, I was told I'd have to order their universal remote at $80+ dollars. I elected to check online 1st & found this item. As one of our vehicles has buttons on the visor to program such electronics as the garage door opener, I needed the remote to be able to do that as well. I was relieved to find that the remote was easy to program to work the opener and thrilled that it also easily programmed to the car buttons.

Chamberlain 750CB Single-Button Remote Control Review

I found this to be a perfectly good replacement for my Sears Craftsman model #139.53778 garage door remote. It even came with a battery.
In addition to setting the dip switches on the remote, I had to invoke the "Learn" feature on my garage door opener for it to respond to the new remote. This is simple task, and the instructions are included.
Once you get it working, there isn't much left to critique.
