(More customer reviews)Bought this for the car parked outside. Programming was piece of cake, just read the directions in the pamphlet or on the garage opening motor [which I did].
3 steps
1. Press and HOLD the open button on the remote
2. Press and RELEASE the purple button [I forgot what they called it]
3. Release the remote button ONCE the garage openers' LIGHT comes on.
Make sure you reprogram the old remotes at the same time so they all work on the same code, frequency, or what-not.
Excellent seller as well, brought it from "ASPDOORS & A WHOLE LOT MORE"

Genie GIT-1BL One-Button Remote Control with Intellicode Review

(More customer reviews)I love my two-year old Overhead Door Legacy garage door opener, but a couple of weeks ago, I lost one of the remote transmitters (clicker) somehow and I got a nasty surprise. Seems that the Overhead Door people wanted to sell me the replacement for $39, plus state tax! I was determined to get this simple one-button remote for less than that.
My research turned up all kinds of confusing information, but I finally understood that Genie "Intellicode" and Overhead Door "Codedodger" technology is pretty much the same. After reading the specs on twelve different Genie remotes I decided to take a chance on this one, ordering it from Sanford & Son. Sanford & Son is amazing! I placed my order late on a Monday afternoon and the remote was in my hand with the delivery of the mail Thursday of the same week. And, there was no shipping charge!
Programming the remote took less than 60 seconds. It is a simple process of activating a "learn" function between the base unit and the remote (instructions are included). In appearance and function, the Genie and the Overhead Door remotes are identical, except for the wording on them.
Bottom line -- Instead of paying about $42 to buy a replacement Overhead Door remote locally, I bought this Genie remote from Sanford & Son for less than half that (special battery is included in the price) and it works perfectly.

The GIT-1 is compatible with your opener f your Genie unit says "INTELLICODE" on the side of it and has a manufacture date of 1995-CURRENT. The manufacture date can be found on the motor head. The GIT-1 is also compatible with Ovehead CodeDodger units manufactured 1995-current. Not all compatible models listed-contact Genie if you are unsure if it is compatible with your unit.

(More customer reviews)I commute on a motorcycle and needed something that could be programmed to open the community gate and my garage, and be small and accessable to grab as I'm riding. This little thing was definitely the ticket. It's hardy, durable, and has lasted through years of abuse. I keep it on my keychain, on the bike, and it's been exposed to rain, no problems. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a small opener.
The only improvements I can think is if they can make it even smaller, and prettier. Even if they would just offer it in black would be a great improvement.
But those are minor things. This is a great little gadget as it is.

As the opener is a Sears product, I checked with them for a remote, & as they no longer make this particular one, I was told I'd have to order their universal remote at $80+ dollars. I elected to check online 1st & found this item. As one of our vehicles has buttons on the visor to program such electronics as the garage door opener, I needed the remote to be able to do that as well. I was relieved to find that the remote was easy to program to work the opener and thrilled that it also easily programmed to the car buttons.

(More customer reviews)I researched automatic gate operators quiet extensively. The only one I knew I did not want for sure was a GTO. (more on that later) I still could not decide. So I called a local dealer who sold and installed gate operators. He recommended USAutomatic . Why, "made in the US, better warranty, excellent support, commercial grade, low power usage, and a satisfied customer list". I trusted his professional opinion and bought the USAutomatic Sentry 300 S. After installing the operator and using it for a couple of weeks I am very satisfied. It works smooth, was easy to install, easy to setup, I get a 30% tax credit on the cost, and a decent warranty. I am very impressed with this Operator.
My first gate operator was a GTO Mighty Mule 500. Mainly because it was the only brand and best model available in retail stores in my area. It was about $450.00 plus another battery $30.00 (because the power drain was so high) and another remote $30.00. Over $500.00. I got it installed and it sounded like it was going to strip a gear ever tine it was opened. To my amazement It lasted about 3yrs on a 200lb 14 foot residential gate that was used an average of 4 times a day. When it did strip a gear (the warranty was expired) I could not buy the gears. I could buy replacement arm for $275.00.
Comparing a GTO Mighty Mule 500 Gate Opener to USAutomatic Sentry 300 S would be like comparing oak to mdf . You get what you pay for. I now have a mighty mule 500 gate operator for sale if anyone needs parts or a trot line weight.

The good: It works. The programming instruction is clear and easy to follow. I prefer these kind of jumper settings, rather than the "clicker" where you pressed buttons in certain sequence to program. The unit is small and light, can put in pocket.
The bad: The mounting bracket is not that useful and I can live without it. I also notice the lag time and takes a while for me to get used to. Range is minimal, as expected in universal remote of this size. And is anyone going to make a multi-button portable universal remote? (not the clicker..)
Bottom line: For the price this is a good deal. It advertises that it supports a wide range of models. It is a great replacement or secondary remote.

The manual has programming directions (press "program" button on your garage opener, press the remote two times, you're done).
The four little rectangles arond the remote are a plastic sleeve that can be reversed to cover the button, so it won't accidentally open your garage from your pocket.
There's a tiny hole that lights up red when you press the button, so you know that the battery is good.
Comes with battery already installed.
The keyring was a little tough to attach.
