Stanley 1082 Garage Door Remote Transmitter Review

Stanley 1082 Garage Door Remote Transmitter
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
If you still have an older "Stanley" garage door opener from the 1980's-1997, this unit is perfect for you. I had the older bulkier unit and it was terrible. I was too cheap to get a new garage door opener, so I had to get some new remotes. This was the perfect unit for me.
Programing it took about 2 minutes (for the 2 units I bought) since it has only 10 dip switches.
The size is great, it is small enough for your key chain, but I like to keep it in the car instead like most people do.
My only complaint on the unit is that it didn't have the option of a clip so I could put it on my visor, but that is a small issue on an otherwise great unit.

Liftmaster 9 Dip Switch 62LM 2 button Sears Craftsman compatible Remote Review

Liftmaster 9 Dip Switch 62LM 2 button Sears Craftsman compatible Remote

Solved our problem of poor quality signal from the old transmitter. We had to sit directly in front of the garage door and it would only work 50% of the time. This one has great range. It activates the garage door from the neighbors house. I can now pull right in without the aggravation. The big plus is that it will open both doors. Very happy with this item.

Found this to be very easy to program. So easy in fact that I was also able to program a keypad as well. Battery is included so I could use it right away. If I could change anything it would be a better way to easily chage the battery without having to remove the clip.

works great for my two dip switch garage door openers. this opener doesn't have switches in it, but you code in the dip switch code with button presses. no harder than flipping the switches in the old style.

Unfortunately it was the wrong opener for my garage door. I must say the company Community Controls was very helpful in responding and taking care of me. I'm still waiting for the replacement product but it's only been a few days. The only rap I have is the one I returned was oretty big and bulky but what do you expect for $15.00. I would definately deal with Community Controls in the future.

A unit purchased May 2005 quit working 9 months later. A replacement installed at that time quit working 14 months later. The control unit was inside the garage, protected from weather. I recommend looking elsewhere for a keyless garage door opener.

this was the wrong product. my marantec garage door was not compatible with the home link in my two honda cars. I thought this would be an easy solution but was pretty complicated. The Marantec, AC/DC plug in receiver is the product that I needed. Marantec was great in returning and exchanging it.

Chamberlain KLIK1U Clicker Transmitter Universal Garage Door Remote Control Review

Chamberlain KLIK1U Clicker Transmitter Universal Garage Door Remote Control
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My Genie opener was installed in 1990, and I had dropped the remote for what turned out to be the last time. I had searched and found out that model remote was no longer made. I took a chance and ordered the Clicker. When the Clicker arrived, I found the reference to my unit. I knew about the DIP switches inside my existing remote, and the Clicker instructions told me to program the DIP switches inside the Clicker just the same. (This is only true for specific models of openers, remotes and year installed - others use the programming button on the receiver). I followed the clear directions: they seemed a bit odd, but I followed them exactly (17 clicks) and voila! ~ the garage door opened! I programmed the other door as well, and now I have one compact remote to open both doors. I cannot believe it took me so long to find the solution, and it took less than five minutes to program the two doors. Wow! Am I happy! The instructions are clear and detailed, and you just need to follow them exactly. I actually missed the first time and simply started over, following more carefully.

Liftmaster 82LM Garage Door Remote Transmitter Review

Liftmaster 82LM Garage Door Remote Transmitter
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I recently bought a house that had two garage door openers, and wanted another remote for the second vehicle. At first, I wasn't sure which remote I needed exactly, but Liftmaster makes it easy by color-coding the program button on the opener's motor housing. This remote works with the openers that have the green "learn" button. The price on Amazon was the best I could find.
The only thing I'd do better would be to write better instructions. When I first read through them, I thought I bought the wrong unit since it seemed to indicate the second button could only be programmed using the old DIP-switch method (which wouldn't work with either of my openers). It turns out that the second button can _optionally_ be programmed for older openers. My second opener "learned" the second button just fine without touching the DIP switches. I'm glad I just tried to get it to work instead of returning the product thinking it wouldn't work in my arrangement.
One nice feature on this remote is that the first button has a raised, ribbed texture to make it easy to find the correct button by touch.

Easy to program. Operates reliably. It is obvious from reviews for this and other door opener remote controls that customers often order the wrong unit. Make sure that the one you are ordering is compatible with the frequency of your door opener.
