(More customer reviews)These remotes are serialized with unique serial numbers on each of the 4 buttons - this prevents copying of the keyfob. It comes with adhesive stickers to customize it or you can use the default factory labels. Ademco also makes a 12V switch that stands alone and works with one button you choose on the keyfob - you must enroll the serial number of the keyfob buttons you want to use into the switch but it has relay outputs for activating gates, garage door openers, or other purposes.
It can simultaneously be used as a remote for your home alarm system and your gates or garage door opener. I like it because I can open my gate with my key ring when I am outside walking my dog - it normally opens with a garage door opener but if I am not in my car I can use a spare button on the keyfob to open it.

(More customer reviews)I needed to replace my vintage 1990 craftsman remote control. I purchased a different manufacturer that was supposedly universal and found out it really was not. This manufacturer/model worked perfectly with my 9 dip switch system. The only odd thing I had to do was to switch DIP switch 1 to the opposite direction. After I did that, it has worked better than my old remotes every did.

(More customer reviews)Following the instructions, the set up of the following device was quick and easy with very little problem. It works as it claims it does, allowing you to use a code in order to open your garage, thus allowing you to keep a garage door opener outside, which is very useful for someone like me, with a detached garage.
This device lights up when any button is hit, thus allowing you to see it in the dark. The buttons are quite large, and the device is actually larger than the last one I owned, which is a good thing in this case, as you don't have to worry about button slippage as much when you have gloves on in the cold.
The reason it has a 4 star and not a 5 is because of two problems. First off, even when typing the code in correctly, it doesn't always work. Sometimes I need to retype the entire code, sometimes, just the open button, but for whatever reason, buttons occasionally do not register and you have to type the code in 2-3 times. My old one did this too, so that is not as big of a deal as my other problem.
The other problem is that the top cover is rather flimsy and does not stay on the device. It frequently falls of and I have to snap it back on. Just about every other time I use the device, simply picking up the lid causes it to snap off its' rather weak attachment to the keypad. It is annoying, not horrible, and the device still works fine. It pops back on just as easy as it pops off, but it is still a nuisance.

If I could sew I would have done it myself.
The fabric will break down from wear from opening and closing the door.
Does it do the job? Yes. Could it have been made better? Yes
The fabric is not durable. It will probably break down before it gets warmer.
And yes I'll probably replace it with another. Why? Because it's cheap :)
Pros: Cheap and easy to replace.
Cons: Cheap and will need to be replaced.
